Our Mission

We are the New York MFT Network (NYMFTN), an Interest Network Group of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Followed by: NYMFTN advances the profession and the practice of marriage and family therapy by:

• Promoting common professional interests of marriage and family therapists.
• Representing marriage and family therapy as a mental health profession to the public and before governmental bodies.
• Establishing and maintaining professional standards in marriage and family therapy education, training, and practice.
• Cooperating with other organizations and agencies in furtherance of the profession.
• Providing meetings, clinical sessions, publications, research in the field, and other relevant activities to support the above.

The Leadership Team

The Leadership Team for NYMFTN The 2021 Leadership team for NYMFTN is a strong volunteer group working to ensure our profession of Marriage and Family Therapy grows and prospers in New York State. The Board is made up of Student Members, Associate Members, Allied Members, Affiliate Members and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists.
